“I am not guilty,” he told the court.

He was initially arrested after being accused of leaving fake bombs at a British military base and faced charges under both the Terrorism Act and the Official Secrets Act for allegedly working on behalf of a foreign hostile state while at the Ministry of Defense’s Stafford station.

He allegedly used bed sheets to strap himself beneath a food delivery vehicle to escape Sept. 6 and was recaptured by a plains-clothes counterterrorism officer while riding a bike on a west London canal towpath.

Khalife faces trial Nov. 13 and his next court appearance is Oct. 13 at the Old Bailey.
